…It’s Project-Time!

April 30th, 2008

Sorry, first of all. I have been slacking with the posting. Let me assure you, I am not gone - merely putting my focus elsewhere at the time being. Having that said, here’s a couple of goodies:

Check out the stream of the newest song, Cath.., released from the forthcoming ‘Death Cab…’ album, Narrow Stairs here. It’s a very promising song, I love it…

I would also like to recommend you to get a hold of a couple of new releases, since they’re spinning in my recordplayer all day. Both the bands are Danish and are called ’Lily Electric‘ and ‘The William Blakes‘.
Lily Electric‘ released their debutalbum You’re In The Painting You Saw in Danmark on March 31. It’s indierock leaning up against the early ‘Figurines‘, but with a more 60s sound to it, much because of leadvocalist Bjarke Porsmose. An extended review will be posted soon. Untill then you can buy it on Itunes and at most Danish recordstores online.
The William Blakes‘ is basically a project between 3 guys that wants to stur up the Danish musicindustry with a no-rules based record-label. Their debutalbum, Wayne Coyne, is, in their own words, a mix of messy, over ambitious and indefinable music, which is nearly the best way to describe this record compared to other Danish releases. However, Wayne Coyne is not 100% original, with its sound leaning up against Arcade Fires.

Information From ‘The Musiclover’!

March 26th, 2008

I have made a private blog on Blogspot that shares links for new albums shared on various online sharingservices (e.g. Rapidshare).

Why do you ask. Because it’s the foundation of FrozenBlog - that I can find all these new releases online long before they are released and listen to them and that I find a lot of good shit that i didn’t even now existed.

The blog will only be sharing links that I find on the pages I frequent. I will not upload anything myself.

What do you do?

If you want to be invited you have to send me an email with your full name, country of origin and email. Please put the following in the subject: ‘ATT: The Music Lover’s Free Download’.

I will keep inviting until i cannot invite anymore people.

Enjoy.

The Raconteurs Consoles The Hell Out of Me!

March 25th, 2008

Jack White has figured the musicbizz out. Release your shit right when it’s done! No promos, no nothing. Everyone gets to hear at the same time. And even though this seems very effective, an anticipated release, like Consolers of The Lonely, cannot help itself from being leaked.

I fell in love with the first 30 seconds of the first track, smiled and promised myself out loud that I would love this. And i did. There was something about how the drums was introduced into this song. Anyway… this is no review, merely a statement saying: Buy this record.

These are by the way NOT news, just cool information.

Teitur - The Singer (review)

February 15th, 2008

Teitur‘ must have access to a timemachine, because this album should have been released in the 70s, I swear , it definitely sounds like it was recorded in that period. The Singer has distinct resemblance to the grand studiorecordings of the late 70s. Paul Simon is still haunting the details here and there, but just not as parent as the earlier releases.

‘Teitur’ made The Singer in tranquility and isolation with his usual bandmates in a Swedish hostel closed for winter. This is not hard to tell at all, from the sounds coming out of my speakers. ‘Teitur’ uses very few instruments on The Singer, like on the opening track, Your Great Book, he only uses xylophone, chello and choirs. On many other tracks you often hear ‘Teitur’ alone with tightly arranged strings. The common characteristic of the 10 tracks, though, are that the voice and lyrics of ‘Teitur’ are central to the song.

The majority of the 10 tracks are quite simple at first, but upon several listens you get drawn into the realm of The Singer. This is truly a unique pop-album and the new soundtrack of semi-blue/sunny winter days. I love it.
